Con la aparici\u00f3n de los sintetizadores electr\u00f3nicos, los cuales se hicieron accesibles al publico masivo por la d\u00e9cada del ochenta, muchas personas pensaron que el final del piano ac\u00fastico llegar\u00eda a su fin tarde o temprano. De hecho, las ventas mundiales de estos intrumentos comenz\u00f3 a decaer en la d\u00e9cada siguiente por el gran auge que tuvieron los instrumentos de teclado electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n
Sin embargo, el tiempo demostr\u00f3 que un intrumento como el piano que posee mas de 300 cuerdas y un mecanismo de toque que es el mas complejo dentro de todos los instrumentos musicales existentes, dificilmente ser\u00eda igualado por un instrumento electr\u00f3nico. El tiempo di\u00f3 la raz\u00f3n y a fines de los noventa, el piano ac\u00fastico comenz\u00f3 a ser revalorizado y las ventas a nivel mundial comenzaron a crecer y lo siguen haciendo hasta nuestros d\u00edas.<\/p>\n
Ning\u00fan instrumento puede emular satisfactoriamente la calidad arm\u00f3nica de la gran cantidad de cuerdas que tiene le piano. Los instrumentos que en mayor medida han podido emularlo son los pianos el\u00e9ctricos con sonidos de pianos sampleados, es decir, con sonidos reales de pianos grabados en la memoria del piano el\u00e9ctrico. Algunos de gran calidad emulan tambi\u00e9n el \u00abtoque de piano\u00bb del mecanismo. Pero la realidad es que es tan constoso emular el mecanismo del piano que este tipo de instrumentos, cuando son de gran calidad, terminan saliendo mas caros que un piano ac\u00fastico por lo cual dejan de ser econ\u00f3micamente atractivos.
