El piano moderno tiene 7 octavas de extensi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>El piano moderno se ofrece en dos versiones: piano vertical y piano de cola, de acuerdo a su forma y volumen. El piano de cola se usa en <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/teoria\/concierto.html\">los concierto<\/a>s. Es muy grande. Puede llegar a medir hasta casi 3 metros de longitud y puede llegar a tener una tensi\u00f3n en su conjunto de cuerdas de 79 toneladas. El piano vertical es m\u00e1s barato y chico. Hasta ahora, el piano m\u00e1s caro es el piano de cola Steinway hecho en 1888. Fue vendido a 180.000 libras (unos 350.000 d\u00f3lares) en 1980 en New York.<\/p>\n<p>El piano es amado por los compositores debido a su sonido \u00fanico y a su gama de 88 teclas. Juega un rol importante en todo tipo de m\u00fasica.
