Su lirismo introspectivo y su sutil cl\u00e1sica occidental florece teniendo ecos en una legi\u00f3n de tecladistas. Como director y compositor, introdujo un acercamiento influyente y altamente interactivo a las actuaciones en tr\u00edo y en peque\u00f1os grupos.<br \/>\n<center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/images\/BillEvans.jpg\" alt=\"Bill Evans al piano\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nWilliam John Evans, nacido el 16 de agosto de 1929 en Plainfield, NJ, estaba fascinado por la m\u00fasica desde que era peque\u00f1o  ya que escuchaba las <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/profesores.htm\">lecciones de piano<\/a> de su hermano mayor. En ese tiempo ten\u00eda 6 a\u00f1os; estaba tomando lecciones por s\u00ed mismo y mostraba una capacidad extra\u00f1a para leer y absorber la m\u00fasica.  Evans sigui\u00f3 a su hermano a la Universidad \u201cSoutheastern Louisiana\u201d. Abandon\u00f3 la universidad para un breve tiempo en el Ej\u00e9rcito, y en 1955 se matricul\u00f3 en el Mannes College of Music de la Ciudad de Nueva York. La escena de jazz de Nueva York le permiti\u00f3 afinar su oficio y relacionarse con pianistas como Bud Powell, Horace Silver, Lennie Tristano, y George Shearing. Evans logr\u00f3 pronto un contrato de grabaci\u00f3n con Riverside Records, y su disco de debut (New Jazz Conceptions) fue lanzado en septiembre de 1956. Sus primeros trabajos impresionaron al trompetista Miles Davis, quien invit\u00f3 a Evans a unirse en una banda que inclu\u00eda al saxofonista Cannonball Adderley y John Coltrane, al bajista Paul Chambers y al baterista Jimmy Cobb. Junto con el pianista Wynton Kelly, grabaron el seminal Kind Of Blue. Seguidamente <strong>Waltz for Debby por su tr\u00edo<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<center><object width=\"425\" height=\"355\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/dH3GSrCmzC8&#038;hl=en\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/dH3GSrCmzC8&#038;hl=en\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" width=\"425\" height=\"355\"><\/embed><\/object><\/center><br \/>\nEl \u00e9xito de Kind of Blue, emparejado la popularidad mundial de Davis, puso al t\u00edmido Evans en el punto de mira, que m\u00e1s tarde demostr\u00f3 ser demasiado para \u00e9l. Su respuesta fue autodestructiva: Consumi\u00f3 coca\u00edna y hero\u00edna que lo llevaron a su ruptura con Riverside Records. Evans continu\u00f3 tocando, mayoritariamente en tr\u00edos. Con el bajista Scott LaFaro y el baterista Paul Motian, desarroll\u00f3 un nuevo concepto para el tr\u00edo de piano, con papeles m\u00e1s activos para el bajo y la bater\u00eda. El nuevo enfoque de Evans recibi\u00f3 grandes elogios del p\u00fablico, de cr\u00edticos, y de colegas y m\u00fasicos. Cuando LaFaro muri\u00f3 a los 25 a\u00f1os en un accidente automovil\u00edstico en 1961, Evans quedo devastado y casi deja de tocar por completo. Pero \u00e9l se reagrup\u00f3 y form\u00f3 varios tr\u00edos nuevos, sustituyendo a LaFaro con bajistas como Chuck Israels y Eddie Gomez. En 1977, Evans form\u00f3 un tr\u00edo con el bajista Marc Johnson y con el bater\u00eda Joe LaBarbara.<br \/>\n<center><object width=\"425\" height=\"355\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/gT8e3XTSFOs&#038;hl=en\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/gT8e3XTSFOs&#038;hl=en\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" width=\"425\" height=\"355\"><\/embed><\/object><\/center><br \/>\nLa carrera de Evans se acort\u00f3 por la mala salud, agravada por su drogadicci\u00f3n, y muri\u00f3 en 1980 a los 51 a\u00f1os.
