Su rico <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/tonalidad.html\">cuadro tonal<\/a> evoca la suntuosidad del cromatismo de la yuxtaposici\u00f3n de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/teoria\/romantica.html\">los estilos rom\u00e1nticos<\/a> y ecl\u00e9cticos del siglo XIX, presagiando el pluralismo del arte post moderno y de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/operas\/alemana.html\">la \u00f3pera alemana<\/a>.<br \/>\n<center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/images\/Strauss.jpg\" alt=\"Richard Strauss\" \/><\/center><br \/>\nAl igual que la m\u00fasica de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/operas\/rwagner.html\">Wagner<\/a>, los trabajos de Strauss suelen estar manchados por su conexi\u00f3n con la Alemania Nazi, si bien su relaci\u00f3n con el gobierno de Hitler era m\u00e1s bien pragmatismo art\u00edstico que apoyo ideol\u00f3gico. En 1933, fue nombrado presidente de la M\u00fasica de C\u00e1mara del Reich. <\/p>\n<p>Pero si bien Strauss era un compositor atrapado por las circunstancias, un colaborador cobarde, o algo intermedio, a\u00fan se las arreglaba para producir una significante producci\u00f3n musical, entre la que se encuentran sus notables poemas sinf\u00f3nicos y <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianomundo.com.ar\/operas\/\">\u00f3peras<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Sus poemas sinf\u00f3nicos eran trabajos instrumentales con tinte dram\u00e1tico, basados generalmente en alguna otra pieza art\u00edstica, tales como alguna pintura, poes\u00eda o novela. Tambi\u00e9n Zarathustra, Op. 30, es tal vez el poema sinf\u00f3nico m\u00e1s famoso de Strauss. El trabajo hace referencia al libro de Friedrich Nietzsche que lleva el mismo t\u00edtulo. La obertura de dicho poema fue utilizada para la introducci\u00f3n de \u201c2001: una odisea espacial,\u201d y ahora forma una parte muy presente de la cultura popular, haciendo referencia al progreso tecnol\u00f3gico y cultural. <\/p>\n<p>Entre las \u00f3peras m\u00e1s notables de este magn\u00edfico compositor encontramos: Salome (basada en una obra de Oscar Wilde), Electra (basada un una obra de Hofmannsthal) y Der Rosenkavalier (cuyo libreto fue escrito por Hofmannsthal). Strauss compuso tambi\u00e9n la m\u00fasica para la versi\u00f3n f\u00edlmica de Der Rosenkavalier. La historia cuenta las aventuras y percances de Octavian, Caballero de la Rosa, a la vez que utiliza todos los elementos m\u00e1s id\u00f3neos del g\u00e9nero c\u00f3mico: los errores de identidad, los tri\u00e1ngulos amorosos, los disfraces y la humillaci\u00f3n de los rivales. Salome aprovecha la fascinaci\u00f3n occidental con la sensualidad ex\u00f3tica tan popular de esta era. <\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de compositor, Richard Strauss fue <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pianored.com\/directores\/\">director de orquesta<\/a>, y grab\u00f3 algunas interpretaciones inusuales de varias sinfon\u00edas de Beethoven y Mozart. Duramente criticado por su falta de emoci\u00f3n y por sus tiempos precipitados, Strauss se las arregl\u00f3 para reducir la 9\u00aa Sinfon\u00eda de Beethoven a unos escalofriantes 45 minutos (por lo general la interpretaci\u00f3n de dicha obra art\u00edstica suele durar m\u00e1s de una hora).
